About Shirley Bear Fedorak. I began writing stories about horses when I was six years old, but only in my head.
In high school I researched my paternal grandmother’s life and turned it into a fictionalized biography. From then on I was hooked on writing. My inspiration for writing and my love of fiction comes from tedorak of the science fiction greats, Arthur C. Clarke and Robert Heinlein to name only two.
For most of my life I I began writing stories about horses when I was six years old, but only in my head. We then decided to retire to Mexico, but we had caught the international bug and moved to beautiful Beirut, Lebanon where Rob taught and I continued writing.
We moved to Penang, Malaysia in and are living the good life. I am a cultural anthropologist by profession.
I have taught anthropology and other social sciences at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and Cairo American College.
In a Canadian publisher asked me to write an anthropology textbook and I have been writing academic books ever since. My latest books are Anthropology Matters, 3rd ed. Despite my success in academic writing, my passion is fiction. I decided to publish one of my YA series on Kindle Direct. The three stories in each book in the Footsteps series are set in the past, present, and future.
Hopefully there will be about ten books in this series.
